Isle of Man Airport Control Tower

The Isle of Man Airport, as part of an extensive programme of redevelopment, has constructed a new, state of the art, Air Traffic Control Tower. The Tower is approximately 35m high and was constructed using a slip-form concrete solution to aid programme and quality. The structure houses a significant investment in new Avionics Equipment, fully compliant with the requirements of the Regulator, which will improve operational efficiency and safety.

Burroughs’ role was Project Manager, coordinating the efforts of the Design Team and Building Contractor, using a procurement model of Early Contractor Involvement and the NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract.

We also acted as Contract Administrator for the Avionics Equipment Contract for the supply of electrical, electronic and mechanical plant. Burroughs had overarching responsibility for the scheme budget and expenditure against it. The Building and Avionics Contracts were completed to programme and within budget.
