Cardiff Airport – NATO 2014

In 2014, the NATO Summit was held in Newport, South Wales. In readiness for this event, Cardiff Airport identified there would be a large influx of traffic throughout the event and in order for Cardiff Airport to maintain day-to-day Terminal Operations it was decided to construct a Temporary Terminal on a disused runway to the West side of their airfield, which was to be known as the NATO Village.

Burroughs’ role was Project Manager, co-ordinating the efforts of Cardiff Airport and the Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO), ensuring the successful completion of the NATO Village on time and within budget to a high specification finish.

Burroughs were also given the role of producing and maintaining the Project Programme, which was then used in meetings between the FCO and 10 Downing Street.

We also acted as Contract Administrator, administering the bespoke FCO Contract for the NATO event and ensuring agreement of the Final Account between Cardiff Airport and the FCO.

The NATO Event, including the NATO Village, was completed to programme and within budget.
