Freshford Mill, Bath

Burroughs were appointed by the funding bank to act in the capacity of cost advisors to assist the LPA Receiver following the liquidation of the developer on a prestigious residential site at Freshford Mill on the outskirts of Bath.

The development comprised the provision of twenty one residential units in a combination of apartments and houses. The works included the conversion of series of four existing derelict buildings, formally a rubber mill, into apartments together with the construction of five new buildings providing a mixture of properties.

Burroughs undertook a detailed survey of the partly completed construction works, together with an analysis of the status the relevant Planning Conditions and Building Regulation information in order to prepare a comprehensive schedule of the works required to achieve completion. This allowed the funding bank to tender for a replacement developer to complete the works.

The completion of the development works was valued to be in excess of £3 million and the works have been completed and properties sold.
