Dragon 24
Burroughs were commissioned by Dragon 24, a partnership between R O Developments and the Welsh Government to provide Civil and Structural Engineering to a series of office developments, from planning and tender through to project completion.
The Welsh Government required all building projects to achieve a BREEAM excellent rating. Burroughs were integral to the design development at an early stage, to ensure this rating was achieved.
The Developments were on brown field sites which required site investigations and sub structure solutions to overcome services and difficult ground conditions. Both vibro stone piles and engineered fill with reinforced ground beams were utilised to reduce cost.
North Dock consists of three office buildings, all undertaken with steel superstructure while Penllergaer, consisting of four office buildings, was also undertaken with steel superstructure with an open ground floor resulting in 14m cellular beams at first floor.
