Bro Tathan Economic Development Programme

In early 2019 Burroughs were appointed by the Welsh Government to provide Programme, Project and Cost Management and Civil and Structural Engineering support for the development of Bro Tathan. Bro Tathan forms part of the Cardiff Airport and St Athan Economic Zone which has been earmarked for significant investment and development. The various development areas are identified below:

Y Porth

Strategic gateway to Bro Tathan providing serviced development plots designed for a mix of uses including offices, headquarter facilities, showroom uses as well as retail and leisure opportunities aimed at providing consumer and occupier services.

Keithrow and West

Bro Tathan West offers development opportunities for over 400,000 sq ft of new and flexible hangar space together with the associated infrastructure available as serviced development plots or on a design and build basis.

Bro Tathan East

Significant redevelopment opportunity comprising approximately 130 acres suitable for largescale inward investment opportunities or for a range of smaller manufacturing or R&D type operators on design and build packages.

Bro Tathan South

Bro Tathan South is separated into two zones. The rotary zone offers development opportunities to light aircraft and rotary operations with direct runway access and full airside support. The Beggars Pound enclave offers opportunities for office, industrial and associated aviation type uses within a private part of the estate with independent access off St Athan Road. Airside access can also be arranged from certain buildings if required. Planning permission is being sought for up to 30,000 sq ft of new office accommodation.

Bro Tathan North

Bro Tathan North is located directly adjacent to Y Porth, within an enclave site discrete from the runway with direct vehicular access from Ffordd Bro Tathan. It offers a range of existing industrial facilities together opportunity for new build office, industrial and logistics opportunities.
