Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Project / Cost Management (PCM) team in the delivery of projects in accordance with our ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Take a ‘simple’ brief from more senior members of staff and act upon the brief as given.
  • Deliver elements of the Project / Cost Management work under the supervision of more senior members of the PCM team.
  • Organise and provide all work output in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide general support to all members of the Burroughs team including our Engineering team, as required.
  • Undertake general office administration related to the PCM team (including filing, printing, photocopying etc)
  • Meet all of the assessment requirements and expectations associated with the chosen academic course.

Job Specific Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the following tasks:

  • Procurement Process – including compiling of Tender Documents, evaluation of tenders and compiling of Tender Reports.
  • Contract Documents – compiling of Contract Documents complete with all associated information and appendices.
  • Contract Administration – Preparation of Contract Instructions, Compensation Events, meeting agendas and minutes of meetings.
  • Cost Management – preparation of cost estimates, evaluation of Applications for Payment, preparation of Interim Payment Certificates together with management of the Final Account.

  • Have good time management (both within work and college).
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be able to present work / information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to be flexible.
  • Ability to work as a ‘team’ player.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel etc.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s A-C (to include Maths, English and Science).
  • A Levels (Desirable).
  • Any Construction Industry related work experience (Desirable).
