Pure Gym

Burroughs were appointed by the owners of the Millennium Plaza Leisure Complex to provide Contract Administration and Cost Management services for the enabling works required to prepare a recently vacated area for a leisure operator to install a gymnasium.

The works comprised of two main elements; firstly, the stripping out of an existing comedy club and bar demise, together with the construction of new partitions and installation of first fix mechanical and electrical items, including new drainage, to provide a “shell” area suitable for the bespoke fit out of the new gymnasium facility for Pure Gym.

The second element involved providing a dedicated entrance within the existing atrium area, to allow Pure Gym to operate on a 24 hour basis. The works were further complicated by two issues; firstly the site having limited access for the removal of debris and for the delivery of new materials and, secondly, having to maintain the operational capabilities of the other tenants, which included a cinema operator who had particular concerns over the noise levels generated during the strip out works.
